UFC Rankings

The last fight night didn’t do much for the rankings. The fight card was entertaining, but the overall impact was minimal.

A couple of notes are needed. One, I did not and will not rank Anderson Silva as a light heavyweight. It’s is pretty obvious he won’t be competing in that weight class in the immediate future. Two, I’ve ranked Brandon Vera as a light heavyweight and a heavyweight until I get more concrete information on his new weight class. This fight card was put together so quickly that he may have just met the weight class of his opponent. He’s always been very small for a heavyweight.

Finally, I want to remind everyone how these rankings work. The higher the rank, the higher the pecking order at fight time. I base these rankings on who will get a title shot and when. Nothing is certain, the UFC likes to throw the occasional Frank Mir or Yushin Okami for promotional reasons. If you disagree with my rankings, feel free to comment.
